PAUL Nicholls is hopeful Michel Le Bon can provide him with a fourth triumph in the Coral Welsh National.
Nicholls won the race as a jockey on board Playschool in 1987, before saddling back-to-back winners in Silver Birch in 2004 and L’Aventure a year later.
Michel Le Bon made a fine reappearance this term when beaten by The Package in the Badger Ales Chase at Wincanton.
The ten-year-old will carry 11st 3lb, with Donald McCain’s Across The Bay set to shoulder top weight of 11st 12lb.
Writing in his Betfair column, Nicholls said: “He ran really well when he was second to The Package and they were a mile clear of everything.
“The Package didn’t let the form down in the Hennessy. He loves soft ground and stays forever. I’d be very hopeful with a light weight he’ll go very nicely.”
